Further advice from DNK guides

In addition to the free initial advice via our DNK Helpdesk, companies can access further, tailored advice from our DNK guides. DNK guides are selected sustainability advisors, who provide targeted support for companies and organisations compiling their sustainability reports. This further, practical assistance is often needed in light of increasing legal requirements.

What exactly do the DNK guides offer?

The guides offer a variety of services. They hold information events on the DNK or support businesses step by step through their sustainability reporting. Furthermore, they advise companies individually – from the initial concept through to the published CSRD or VSME report. They help to identify material topics, shape communication with stakeholders and define goals for more sustainability. You can request specific support services straight from the respective guides.

Why do we need DNK guides?

DNK guides support our aim of fostering corporate transparency. They help anchor sustainable business practices more firmly in companies and other organisations. As the increasing requirements and reporting obligations lead to a growing need for advice, the network of DNK guides complements the free Sustainability Code services offered by the DNK. Guides work autonomously and invoice their services on an individual basis.

How do I become a DNK guide?

DNK guides are external sustainability consultancies, agencies or freelancers. They work independently of the DNK and have many years of experience in sustainability reporting under their belts.

To join the network of guides, you must meet the following quality criteria:

  • Submission of this self-disclosure questionnaire (once)
  • Published VSME report (including additional module) on the DNK platform (annually)
  • Participation in a DNK training course (annually)
  • Submission of an annual report (annually)
  • Proof of at least two years of consulting experience in the field of sustainability management and/or sustainability reporting (via questionnaire)
  • Agreement to the Code of Conduct as a framework for our trusting network cooperation (via questionnaire)
  • Active participation in the network

Admission to the network is free of charge. It takes place after the requirements have been checked and the criteria have been met and does not constitute certification. Participating DNK guides receive their own logo to communicate their network membership to the outside world. The logo shows that they meet the network's current quality requirements. It is reissued annually after the criteria have been reviewed.

The admission of new guides is planned for the second quarter of 2026. Further information will be available here in due course.
